  • Company Profile: The Bank's predecessor can be traced back to the Agricultural Cooperative Bank established in 1951. After February 1979, the Bank successively went through different development stages such as state specialized bank, wholly state-owned commercial bank and state-controlled commercial bank. In 1999, the Bank was approved to divest non-performing assets of RMB345.8 billion to the newly established China Great Wall Asset Management Company. On 13 January 2009, the CBRC approved the Bank's restructuring into Agricultural Bank of China Limited, which was formally established as a joint stock limited company on 15 January 2009 with a registered capital of RMB260.0 billion. The Ministry of Finance and Huijin Company were the promoters, each holding 50% of the Bank's shares. On 29 April 2010, the Bank's registered capital was changed to RMB270.0 billion, with the Ministry of Finance, Huijin Company and the National Council for Social Security Fund holding approximately 48.15%, 48.15% and 3.70% of the Bank's shares, respectively.
