  • Company Profile: On December 6, 1996, the People's Bank of China approved the preparation of the Bank with the "Reply on the Preparation of Ningbo City Cooperative Bank" (Yin Fu Zi [1996] No. 425). On March 18, 1997, representatives of the urban credit cooperatives and the municipal union signed the "Sponsor Agreement" with the Ningbo Municipal Finance Bureau and the Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone Finance Company. According to the aforementioned reply and the "Sponsor Agreement", the Ningbo Municipal Finance Bureau, the Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone Finance Company, and the original shareholders of the urban credit cooperatives and the municipal union (including 364 institutions and corporate legal persons and 2,421 natural persons) jointly sponsored the establishment of "Ningbo City Cooperative Bank". On March 31, 1997, the People's Bank of China approved the Bank's opening with the "Reply on the Opening of Ningbo City Cooperative Bank" (Yin Fu [1997] No. 136). Upon the Bank's opening, the urban credit cooperatives within the scope of the establishment were automatically dissolved and became branches of the Bank according to their respective agreements, and the urban credit cooperative union was automatically terminated; all legal creditor's rights and debts of the urban credit cooperatives and the municipal union were transferred to the Bank. On April 10, 1997, the Bank was registered and established with the Ningbo Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce, and obtained the "Financial Institution Legal Person License of the People's Republic of China" (No. D10013320033) issued by the People's Bank of China on April 11. On June 2, 1998, with the approval of the Zhejiang Branch of the People's Bank of China, the Bank was renamed "Ningbo City Commercial Bank Co., Ltd.". On April 13, 2007, with the approval of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, the Bank was renamed "Bank of Ningbo Co., Ltd.".
